[Scheduling](https://knowledge.corfix.com/articles/corfix-admins?hsLang=en#scheduling) July 13, 2026 # How do I remove a worker from a scheduled day? ## Take a worker off a project's card for a specific day when plans change. **Quick answer** Open the card for that project and day, remove the worker from the **Workers** list in the **Edit Assignment** drawer, and save. If a card has only that one worker and no assets, you can delete the whole card instead. **Overview** Plans change, and a worker who was assigned to a project on a given day sometimes needs to come off it — without affecting any other day they're scheduled. Removing a worker is done from the same card where they were assigned; it only ever affects that one project and that one date. **Before you begin** - Removing a worker is done by an **admin** in the **web portal**. - If the day is today, the worker will be notified that they were removed, so it's worth confirming the change before saving. **Steps** 1. **Find the card.** Locate the project's row and the day column where the worker is scheduled. 2. **Open the card.** Click it to open the **Edit Assignment** drawer, or hover/tap the expand icon to confirm you have the right person before opening the full drawer. 3. **Remove the worker.** In the **Resources \> Workers** list, remove their name from the card. 4. **Save.** The card updates, and the worker's required count badge (like **2/5**) drops to reflect the open slot. 5. **Or delete the whole card.** If nothing else needs to stay on that card, use **Delete** instead of editing the worker list. **Use cases** - **Last-minute change:** a worker calls in sick and needs to come off today's card without touching tomorrow's assignment. - **Reassigning coverage:** remove a worker from one project's day so they can be scheduled to a different project on the same date instead. **Troubleshooting** **Will the worker be notified they were removed?** Yes, if it's a current-day card. Removing them from a future day doesn't send a same-day removal notice the way a current-day change does — see [*How workers are notified of their schedule*](https://knowledge.corfix.com/articles/scheduling-notifications?hsLang=en)for the full timing. **I removed the worker but the card is still there.** That's expected if the card still has other workers, assets, or notes on it.
