# How do I exempt projects from the geofence?

## This article will summarize how to set up exemptions for the geofence

You can exempt projects from the geofence by following the steps below:  
**Step 1:** Click on "Timekeeping" from the left side menu and then click "Settings" in the top right

**Step 2:** Select the "Location" tab at the top

**Step 3:** Click on "Radius Exception Projects" to select one or more projects that you would like to exempt from the required punch in location requirement

**Step 4: **In the project specific radius, you can enter 0 to have that project exempt from the geofence OR you can give it a special radius so that it follows a different rule than all other projects

Note that this only applies when using the Punch Clock feature.
