How do I view the location of a signed form?
This article will summarize how to view the geographic location (map pin) recorded when a form is signed in Corfix.
Prerequisites
-
Admin Access: Only users with Admin permissions can change the Capture Location Requirement settings for the entire company, and the Edit Company Settings under the Company Permissions most be enabled.
Overview & Explanation
When a team member signs a digital form, Corfix can capture a geographic pin (also known as a location pin or geo-tag). This allows you to verify that a worker was physically present at a specific job site or location when they submitted their paperwork. Instead of just seeing a signature, you see exactly where that signature was captured on a map.
How It Works (Step-by-Step)
Part 1: Enabling Location Capture (Admins Only)
Before you can view locations, you must ensure the requirement is active in your company settings.
-
1. In the left-hand sidebar, go to Account Details, then select Company Settings.
-
Under Form Settings, find Capture Location Requirement.
-
Open the dropdown and select Required to make location tracking mandatory for all signed forms.
-
Scroll to the bottom and click Save.
Part 2: Viewing the Map Pin on a Signed Form
Once the setting is active and forms are signed, you can view the location data.
-
In the left-hand sidebar, click Forms.
-
Select the signed form you want to review.
-
In the Form Details view, find the Signers table at the top right.
-
Click Choose Action next to the signer’s name and select View Signature Location.
-
A map will open with a green pin showing where the signer was located.
Alternatively, click Actions at the top of the Form Details, select View to open the full document, then scroll to the signature page of the PDF. The GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) will appear next to the signature.
Use Cases and Benefits
-
Confirm Site Presence: Verify that safety inspections or "Toolbox Talks" are being conducted at the actual work location rather than from a remote office.
-
Accurate Records: Maintain a digital paper trail that includes GPS-backed evidence for compliance or client billing disputes.
-
Enhanced Accountability: Encourage team members to complete documentation in real-time while they are still on-site.
