How to add Date Completed to Task

This article will summarize how to view and track the exact date and time a task was marked as finished within your project.

Overview & Explanation

Knowing exactly when work was finalized is key to staying on schedule. Corfix now automatically records a Date Completed timestamp the moment a task is checked off. This removes the guesswork from your project history, giving you a precise digital paper trail for every completed item.

How It Works (Step-by-Step)

  1. Mark a Task as Done: Locate the task you have finished and click the Checkmark or status box to mark it as Complete.

  2. Automatic Timestamp: The system will instantly record the current date and time. You can view this "Date Completed" info directly within the task details.

  3. Handling Groups (Parent Tasks): If you have a main task that contains several smaller sub-tasks, the "Date Completed" will be set automatically once the last sub-task is finished.

  4. Correcting Mistakes: If you accidentally mark a task as complete and need to change it back, simply uncheck it. The system will remove the completion date until you mark it finished again.

Use Cases and Benefits

  • Accurate Timelines: Easily verify if a task was completed on the day it was promised without having to ask the crew.

  • Simplified Reporting: Use completion timestamps to provide clients or stakeholders with exact data on project progress.

  • Audit Readiness: Maintain a reliable record of completion for safety inspections or compliance requirements where timing is critical.

  • Automatic Tracking: No manual data entry is required; the system handles the logging for you the moment the status changes.
