How to change your CRA remitter type

The remitter type tells the CRA how often your business must submit payroll deductions like income tax, CPP, and EI. Setting this correctly helps ensure timely remittances and keeps your payroll compliant with CRA requirements.

Be sure to confirm this setting before the first payroll of the year—the remitter type determines how frequently payments are due.
