[Timekeeping](https://knowledge.corfix.com/articles/corfix-admins?hsLang=en#timekeeping) March 19, 2026 # Recalculate Hours from Timecard Edit Page ## This article will summarize how to use the Recalculate Hours tool to automatically update pay totals after you edit a timecard. ### Overview & Explanation When you manually adjust a team member's clock-in or clock-out times, the total hours worked—including overtime—need to be updated to match those new times. Instead of doing the math yourself, you can now use a simple checkbox to have the system handle the calculations. This ensures that regular pay, overtime, and double-time are always accurate based on the new times you entered. ### How It Works 1. **Open the Edit Screen:** Go to the timecard you need to fix and click on the underlined Project or Worker Name. 2. **Adjust the Times:** Edit the correct **Adjusted Start Time** or **Adjusted End Time** for the shift. 3. **Select Recalculate:** Look for the checkbox labeled **Recalculate Hours**. 4. **Save Your Changes:** Click **Save**. The system will instantly update the regular hours, overtime, and double-time totals based on your company’s pay rules and the new times you provided. When editting timecards only update the **Adjusted Start Time** or **Adjusted End Time.** Pushing the recalculate checkbox will ensure the following fields are calculated accordingly based on your changes; \- Regular Hours \- Overtime Hours \- Double Time Hours \- Lunch (This will calculate based on the threshold you set). ### Editting Lunch on a Timecard. 1. **Open the Edit Screen:** Go to the timecard you need to fix and click on the underlined Project or Worker Name. 2. Manually edit the timecards lunch hours field 1. **If removing lunch** , add the lunch into the Reg, Overtime, or Doubletime totals. 2. **If adding lunch**, remove the lunch from the Reg Overtime or Doubletime totals. 3. **DO NOT** click recalculate. Recaluclating will put the lunch back on or remove it based on your lunch threshold that is configured in Timekeeping settings). 4. Push Save. ### Use Cases and Benefits - **Fixing Punch Errors:** If an employee forgot to clock out and you have to manually enter their "End Time," this tool ensures their overtime is calculated correctly without manual tallies. - **Morning Adjustments:** If a crew started 15 minutes early but the system didn't capture it, you can adjust the start time and "Recalculate" to make sure they are paid for every minute. - **Error Prevention:** Eliminates manual math mistakes, ensuring that double-time and overtime are applied exactly as your company policy dictates. -
