[Certifications](https://knowledge.corfix.com/articles/corfix-admins?hsLang=en#certifications) August 21, 2026 # How do I require specific certifications for a project? ## This article will summarize the two ways to tie certification types to a project in Corfix, so the right qualified workers end up on the right sites. --- **Before you start:** you'll need administrator access to Corfix Admin (the web dashboard), and the certification types you want to require should already exist under **Resources \> Certifications**. --- ### Overview Most projects come with their own qualification requirements — a confined-space site, a job that involves hot work, an owner who insists every worker on site holds a specific ticket. Corfix lets you attach those requirements directly to the project. Think of it as a qualification checklist that lives on the project itself. Once it's in place, Corfix knows which certifications that site demands and can compare them against what each worker actually holds on their profile. There are two ways to set this up. **Both do the same thing** — pick whichever is faster for the situation in front of you. ### How it works #### Option 1: Start from the certification type Best when **one certification applies to several projects** (for example, a ticket every one of your high-rise sites requires). 1. In Corfix Admin, go to **Resources \> Certifications**. 2. Open the **Certification Types** tab. 3. Find the certification type you want to require and click **Choose Action \> Edit**. 4. In the **Project** field, select the project (or projects) that require this certification. 5. Click **Save**. #### Option 2: Start from the project Best when **one project needs several certifications** — you can add them all in one pass. 1. Go to your **Projects** list and open the project you want to update. 2. Click **Edit**. 3. Populate the **Required Certifications** field, selecting every certification type the project requires. 4. Click **Save**. ### Where this really pays off: Corfix Scheduling Required certifications become a live safeguard once they're paired with **Corfix Scheduling**. When you schedule a worker to a project, Corfix checks their profile against that project's required certifications. If something's missing, **the worker is flagged right there in the schedule** — before they travel to site, before they pick up a tool, and before it becomes a finding in an audit. That turns your health and safety program from a binder somebody has to remember into a check that happens automatically, every time the schedule is built. If your team isn't using Corfix Scheduling yet, your **CSM** can walk you through what it would look like alongside the certification tracking you already have. ### Use cases and benefits - **High-risk work:** flag anyone scheduled to a confined-space or hot-work site who doesn't hold the required ticket. - **Owner and general contractor requirements:** when a client mandates specific qualifications on their site, the requirement lives on the project, so nobody has to remember it. - **Shared crews across multiple projects:** the same worker can be qualified for one site and not another — Corfix applies the right checklist per project automatically. - **New hires and expiring tickets:** gaps surface at the scheduling stage instead of at the gate. - **Audit readiness:** you can show that qualification requirements were defined per project and checked before work was assigned. -
