Setting up a Worker in Corfix, with Corfix Payroll.

This article will summarize how to set up new employees into Corfix if you are using Corfix Payroll.

1. Worker Creation in Corfix

Workers are first created and activated in the Workers Page. When a worker is activated, their profile information is sent automatically into Corfix Payroll.

Required Fields (Corfix Worker Profile → Corfix Payroll)

The following worker details must be entered in Corfix before activation so they flow into Payroll:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Employee Number

Under Peronsonal Details

  • Date of Birth

  • Street Address

  • City

  • State/Province

  • Postal/Zip Code

  • Country

  • Personal Email

  • Personal Phone

💡 Optional fields such as gender, allergies, or preferred language may be entered, but only the above highlighted fields are essential for payroll integration.

2. Pay Rate Setup

From the worker setup screen in Corfix:

  • Regular Pay Rate Override – base hourly rate (e.g., $30/hr).

  • Overtime Pay Rate Multiplier – typically 1.5x.

  • Double Time Pay Rate Multiplier – typically 2x.

For more on Managing Workers Py Rates after the initial cretion please click here, Add/Manage Hourly Workers

💡 These rates determine how standard, overtime, and double-time hours are calculated once transferred to Payroll.

3. Worker Activation and Payroll Sync

  • Once activated, the worker’s personal and pay rate data is automatically transferred to Corfix Payroll.

  • The worker can then be located in Corfix Payroll by searching for their Name.

4. Completing Setup in Corfix Payroll

After syncing, the payroll administrator must manually complete additional payroll-specific fields in the worker’s Corfix Payroll Profile:

Mandatory Payroll Fields

  • SIN (Social Insurance Number)

  • Bank Account Information (for direct deposit)

Company-Defined Payroll Settings

Setting up Presets

  • Benefits, Allowances, and Deductions – applied based on company presets (health, pension, union dues, etc.).

  • Reimbursements – any company-specific expense reimbursements.

  • Statutory Holiday Pay – ensure compliance with jurisdictional requirements.

5. Ongoing Maintenance

  • Updates to personal details (address, contact, pay rate changes) in Corfix will flow into Payroll once re-synced.

  • Payroll-specific items (e.g., SIN, banking, deductions) must be maintained within Corfix Payroll directly.

  • Ensure Employee Number remains unique and consistent to avoid sync errors.

  • Ensure Pay Rates are editted with the Corfix Worker account, for more refer here.
