# Stop Pay for Employees in Corfix Payroll

## This article will summarize how to close a workers employee profile in Corfix Payroll.

Following the Steps below will ensure that Workers;

- Workers no longer have access to Corfix.
- Employees do not appear on future payrolls.
- ROE's are generated and submitted.

Do not block the worker until you have fully completed Steps 1–4. Please complete each step in order to properly close the account.

If you have blocked a worker too early by mistake, reach out to Corfix Support through the in-app Support chat, and we will reactivate the worker in Payroll.

1. **(One time set up)** Create a role to temporarily group workers who have been laid off and should no longer access Corfix, while you wait for the current pay period to end before generating their ROE. This Role should have **Mobile app access** and **Admin app access** toggled off so the worker doesn't have access to Corfix.
2. Assign this temporary role to the worker as soon as they are laid off, and keep it in place until the end of the payroll period when you generate their ROE. This ensures the worker no longer has access to Corfix.
3. Then, you will have to set the **Effective To** date for the following manually in Corfix Payroll; 
     1. Worker's Comp
     2. Stat Holiday Pay
     3. Vacation Pay (best practice is to set the vacation **Effective To** date to the last day of the pay period for that worker,[further explaination here)](https://knowledge.corfix.com/articles/vacation-pay-calculation-timing#:~:text=If%20a%20worker%20leaves%20partway%20through%20a%20pay%20period%2C%20set%20the%20Vacation%20Pay%20Effective%20To%20date%20to%20match%20the%20last%20day%20of%20that%20pay%20period.%20This%20ensures%20vacation%20pay%20is%20calculated%20correctly%20on%20their%20final%20pay.)
     4. Pay Rate
     5. Benefits
     6. Allowances
     7. Deductions
     8. Reimbursements

4.Once the last payroll has been approved for the worker(s) who have been laid off, generate the ROE for the worker. [How to Generate ROE.](https://knowledge.corfix.com/articles/how-to-generate-a-new-roe?hsLang=en)

4\. Lastly, Suspend the Worker profile in Corfix. [Suspend Worker.](https://knowledge.corfix.com/articles/suspend-worker?hsLang=en) The worker will no longer show in your list of Workers in Corfix.
