How do I Block a worker?
This article will summarize the process for blocking (inactivating) a worker's access to the system while retaining their historical data.
Overview & Explanation
Use this feature when an employee leaves the company or is placed on temporary leave. Blocking a worker immediately revokes their access to the platform without deleting their profile, ensuring all their past records and logs remain intact for your company's compliance and reporting needs.
How It Works (Step-by-Step)
Follow these steps to suspend a worker's access:
-
Navigate to Workers: From the main dashboard, click on the Resources > Workers tab located in the left-side menu.
-
Locate the Employee: Find the specific individual you wish to suspend from your list of active staff.
-
Select Block: Click the Choose Action dropdown menu located beside the employee's name and select Block, which will inactivate the users account and not allow them to login to Corfix.
-
Reactivating (If Needed): If the worker returns to active duty, simply return to the Workers tab, click the Choose Action dropdown again, and select Reactivate.
Use Cases and Benefits
-
Employee Offboarding: When a worker is fired or resigns, blocking them ensures they can no longer view sensitive company project data.
-
Seasonal Layoffs: For companies with seasonal staff, blocking allows you to "pause" an account over the winter and "unpause" it in the spring without re-entering their personal details.
-
Data Integrity: Unlike deleting a profile, blocking preserves the worker's digital paper trail (like signed forms or time logs) for future audits.
-
Temporary Leave: If a worker is on an extended medical or personal leave, you can temporarily restrict their access to stay compliant with privacy or security protocols.
