How do I check a worker's availability for the week?
Hover a worker's card in the Resources panel to see which days they're free before you schedule them.
Quick answer
Hover (or tap, on touch devices) a worker's card in the Resources panel to see a popup showing "X of 7 days this week", with each day of the week marked as free or not.
Overview
Before committing a worker to a project, it helps to know how much of the week they already have on their plate. The availability hover gives you that at a glance, without needing to open every card they're already assigned to. It's the fastest way to confirm someone is actually free before you drag them onto a day.
Before you begin
- Availability is visible to admins in the web portal.
- The Availability button also sits in the Resources panel alongside Worker Group — this article covers the quick hover check; see Setting or updating worker availability for managing availability itself.
Steps
- Open the Resources panel and switch to the Workers tab.
- Find the worker you want to check, using Search workers by name or ID if needed.
- Hover over their card (or tap it, on mobile-sized screens) to bring up the availability popup.
- Read the summary. The popup shows "X of 7 days this week" along with Monday through Sunday, each marked to show whether the worker is free that day.
- Use it before assigning. Confirm the day you want is marked free before dragging the worker onto a card.
Use cases
- Pre-assignment check: confirm a worker is actually free on the day you're about to schedule them for.
- Finding coverage fast: scan a few worker cards to find someone open on a specific day when you need to fill a gap quickly.
Troubleshooting
The hover shows a worker as busy on a day I don't think they're scheduled. Their availability may reflect something set separately from scheduling cards, such as approved time off — see Scheduling around time off.
I can't get the popup to show on my device. On touch devices, tap the worker's card instead of hovering.
