What is Scheduling in Corfix, and what can I do with it?
See who and what is assigned to each project on each day, so your crews and equipment are always where they need to be.
Applies to: Admin · Scheduler · Field worker | Web portal · Mobile app
Quick answer
Scheduling is where you plan who and what is working on each project, day by day. Admins build and edit the schedule from the web portal by assigning workers and equipment (assets) to a project on a given date. Workers then see where they are assigned from the Corfix mobile app. Each scheduled day on a project appears as a card that lists the workers and assets committed to it.
Overview
The Scheduling module gives you a single week-at-a-glance view of your whole operation. Projects run down the left side, days of the week run across the top, and where a project and a day meet you place a scheduling card. That card holds the workers and assets assigned to that project for that day, along with any notes.
Use Scheduling when you need to decide and communicate where your people and equipment go each day, keep an eye on which projects are fully staffed, and make sure the field knows where to show up.
Before you begin
- Building and editing the schedule is done by an admin in the web portal. The Corfix mobile app is view only for scheduling.
- You will need your projects and your workers (and any assets) already set up in Corfix before you can assign them.
What you can do in Scheduling
- Assign workers and assets to a project by day. Add a scheduling card to any project on any date and drop the right people and equipment onto it.
- Drag and drop from the Resources panel. Workers and assets live in the Resources panel at the top of the board. Drag one straight onto a day to schedule it.
- Set how many workers and assets a day needs. Each card can show a required count, so a card reading 2/5 workers tells you two of five needed spots are filled.
- Add notes to a card. Leave instructions for the crew, such as a gate code or a start time.
- Repeat a schedule. Set a card to recur on chosen weekdays until an end date, instead of rebuilding it every day.
- See staffing status at a glance. Filter projects by All, Needs Attention, Complete, or No Schedule to find the ones that still need work.
- Check worker availability. View who is free across the week before you commit them.
- Group workers. Build worker groups so you can schedule a whole crew at once.
- Keep the field informed. Workers see their assignments on the mobile app and receive notifications when their schedule changes.
Who can do what: admin versus mobile
Admins (web portal) create, edit, and delete scheduling cards, assign and remove workers and assets, add notes and comments, set recurring schedules, and manage worker groups and availability.
Workers (mobile app) can view their schedule only. From the mobile dashboard they see Today's Schedule and Upcoming Schedule, and can tap View Schedules to browse the full list, filter it, and read the workers, assets, and comments on each card. They cannot assign or change anything.
Use cases
- Daily crew planning: map out which crews are on which sites for the week so no project is left short.
- Equipment allocation: make sure shared equipment is committed to one site per day and not double promised.
- Recurring rotations: set a crew to repeat on the same site Monday through Friday with a single recurring card.
- Field clarity: give every worker a reliable place to check where they are expected tomorrow, from their phone.
Troubleshooting
A worker says they cannot see their schedule.
Confirm the worker is assigned to a card, and have them check that notifications are turned on in the Corfix mobile app. See Scheduling Notifications for how and when notifications are sent.
A project is flagged Needs Attention.
That means one of its cards is missing required workers or assets. Open the card and fill the empty spots to clear the flag.
Can I schedule the same worker on two projects on the same day?
Yes. Corfix will let you assign a worker to more than one project on the same day, so double check the day if you only meant to place them once.
