Adding Terminated Workers

This article will summarize how to set up Corfix Payroll correctly to ensure you are able to create all your employee T4's at the end of the year.

If you’re beginning Corfix Payroll on January 1st and have already issued T4s through your previous system, you can skip this step.

Before we can upload the YTD, you will need to create profiles for each employee that has been terminated in the current year. This is necessary to file T4s at the end of the year. Follow the below steps;

  1. Create the Worker in under the Worker tab, not in Payroll. The required fields are as follows
  2. Required Fields (Corfix Worker Profile → Corfix Payroll)

The following worker details must be entered in Corfix before activation so they flow into Payroll:

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    Under Peronsonal Details

    • Date of Birth

    • Street Address

    • City

    • State/Province

    • Postal/Zip Code

    • Country

    • Personal Email

    • Personal Phone

Do not add an email into the Email field, this will ensure the worker is not notified to Activate themselves in Corfix, omitting the email will ensure they do not get a notification and are activated in Active for Kiosk.

2. Pay Rate Setup

From the worker setup screen in Corfix:

  • Regular Pay Rate Override – base hourly rate (e.g., $30/hr).

  • Overtime Pay Rate Multiplier – typically 1.5x.

  • Double Time Pay Rate Multiplier – typically 2x.

Add the Pay Rate that they were receiving when they were working for you.

3. Worker Activation and Payroll Sync

  • Once activated, the worker’s personal and pay rate data is automatically transferred to Corfix Payroll.

  • You can then deactivate the Worker in Corfix. Deactivating a Worker
  • The worker can then be located in Corfix Payroll by searching for their Name.

4. Completing Setup in Corfix Payroll

After syncing, the payroll administrator must manually complete additional payroll-specific fields in the worker’s Corfix Payroll Profile:

Mandatory Payroll Fields

    • SIN (Social Insurance Number)

    • Add in the Effective To date for the Pay Rate, this would be the Workers last date of pay, you would have created the pay rate at this step.

Once all terminated Workers are created, contact your CSM and the YTD (Year-to Date) will be imported.
