[Forms](https://knowledge.corfix.com/articles/corfix-admins?hsLang=en#forms) October 7, 2026 # How do I create a QR code for a form? ## This article explains how to create an internal QR code so workers can open, fill out and sign a form from the Corfix mobile app. It also covers how to link an asset to a QR code. **Before you start: to link an asset to a QR code, these two things must be set up first.** 1. **Turn on the company setting.** Go to **My Account Details \> Edit Company Settings** and turn on **Attach Asset to Form**. 2. **Set up asset requirements on the template.** Open the template, set **Require Asset Selection** to **Required** or **Optional**, and pick the **Allowed Asset Types**. For full steps, see [How do I set up or require specific assets when creating a form?](https://knowledge.corfix.com/articles/configure-template-asset-requirements?hsLang=en) If you don't need an asset on your QR code, you can skip this and go straight to the steps below. ### Overview A QR code takes workers straight to the right form. They scan it in the Corfix mobile app, the form opens with the project and template already chosen, and they fill it out and sign it. You can print QR codes and post them on site, on equipment or in vehicles. **Important:** Internal QR codes only work when scanned **inside the Corfix mobile app**. If someone scans one with their phone's regular camera, it opens in a web browser. If you need a code that works with any phone camera, use an **external QR code** instead. ### How to create an internal QR code 1. In the left menu, click **Forms**, then **All Forms**. 2. In the top right corner, click **Generate QR Code**. 3. In the pop-up, choose the **QR Type**, **Project** and **Template**. If you set up assets for the template, choose the **Asset** too. 4. The QR code appears on your screen right away. 5. Click **Save QR Code** to download it so you can print or share it. ### How workers scan the QR code 1. Sign in to the **Corfix mobile app**. 2. Use the quick menu at the bottom, **Scan QR Code**. 3. Point the camera at the QR code. The form opens on its own. 4. Fill out and **sign** the form. ### When to use QR codes - **Equipment inspections:** Put a code on a machine or vehicle so the daily inspection opens with that asset already linked. - **Site sign-in:** Post a code at the site entrance so workers can open the right form quickly. - **Toolbox talks and hazard assessments:** Put the code on the board so the crew opens the correct template without searching for it. - **Fewer mistakes:** The project, template and asset are set ahead of time, so workers don't pick the wrong one. -
