How do I schedule an asset or piece of equipment to a project?

Assign equipment to a project for a day the same way you'd assign a worker — by dragging it in or using the assignment drawer.

Quick answer

Switch to the Assets tab in the Resources panel, then drag the asset onto the day cell for the project you want, or open the card's Edit Assignment drawer and add it under Resources > Assets. Save to confirm.

Overview

Assets and equipment are scheduled the same way workers are, just from a separate tab in Resources. This keeps shared equipment — trucks, machinery, tools — tied to a specific project and day, so you can see at a glance what's committed where and avoid double-promising the same piece of equipment to two sites on the same day.

Before you begin

  • Scheduling an asset is done by an admin in the web portal.
  • The project and the asset must already exist in Corfix.
  • Corfix does not block the same asset from being assigned to more than one project on the same day, so check the day carefully before saving.

Steps

  1. Open the Resources panel and switch to the Assets tab.
  2. Find the asset. Scroll or search to locate the specific piece of equipment you want to schedule.
  3. Drag the asset onto the day cell. Drop it onto the cell where the project's row meets the date you want. This creates a card if one doesn't exist, or adds the asset to an existing one.
  4. Or use the drawer instead. Click the + on the day cell to open Edit Assignment, then add the asset under Resources > Assets.
  5. Set the required count (optional). Use Total Assets if you want the card to track how many pieces of equipment the day needs.
  6. Save. The card updates with the asset assigned and shows the count, for example 1/2.

Use cases

  • Shared equipment allocation: commit a truck or machine to one site for a day, so it isn't accidentally offered to a second project at the same time.
  • Full card setup: assign both workers and assets to the same card in one pass when building out a day's staffing.

Troubleshooting

Can the same asset be assigned to two projects on the same day? Yes, Corfix allows it — the system doesn't block it. Double check the day and project if that wasn't intentional.

I dragged the asset but nothing happened. Make sure you dropped it directly on a day cell within the project's row, not between rows or columns.
