How do I edit or delete a scheduling card?
Open the Edit Assignment drawer to update a card's details, or delete it entirely.
Quick answer
Click any scheduling card to open the Edit Assignment drawer, where you can update the date, project, required counts, notes, resources, or recurrence, then save — or use Delete to remove the card entirely.
Overview
The Edit Assignment drawer is the full editing view for a scheduling card. Anything the card holds — its date, project, required worker and asset counts, notes, assigned resources, and recurrence — can be changed from here. It's also where you go to delete a card outright, rather than just removing individual workers or assets from it.
Before you begin
- Editing or deleting a card is done by an admin in the web portal.
- Deleting a card cannot be undone — confirm you have the right one before deleting.
Steps
- Click the card you want to change. This opens the Edit Assignment drawer.
- Update any field. Change Date, Project, Total Workers, Total Assets, Notes, or the assigned Resources as needed.
- Adjust recurrence if the card repeats. See Setting up a repeating schedule for details on the Repeat settings.
- Save your changes. The card updates immediately on the grid.
- Or click Delete to remove the card entirely, instead of editing it.
Use cases
- Correcting a mistake: fix the wrong project or date on a card that was set up incorrectly.
- Adjusting required counts: change Total Workers or Total Assets as a project's staffing needs change.
- Removing a canceled day: delete a card outright when a day's work is called off entirely.
Troubleshooting
I deleted a card by accident. Deleting is not reversible from within Scheduling — you'll need to recreate the card and reassign workers and assets.
Will editing a card notify the assigned workers? It depends on what changed and whether it's a current-day card — for example, a note update on a current-day card notifies assigned workers when saved. See How workers are notified of their schedule for full details.
