Here are the questions that came from our attendees;
1. Can you have asset types that are separated on forms?
Example: Only vehicles show on a vehicle form, and only fall protection equipment on a fall protection form.
Answer: Currently no, you can configure asset types so that workers can filter and find their asset quicker however the assignment of a form to an asset directly on the Asset Type is not supported at this time. You can create QR Codes for each Asset which will serve as a physical reminder in the field and allow for a seamless experience for the workers.
2. I have the Asset template component in some of my forms. Should I continue using it or start attaching forms through the new workflow?
Answer: The new workflow is recommended going forward. It provides better tracking and integration with Asset Management, while still allowing you to maintain your existing forms until you transition. Migrating Asset Workflow
3. If the asset selection part is already in a form and an asset is selected during form completion, will it automatically assign it to the project?
Answer: No, when the asset is selected within the form, it will be not be assigned to that project automatically and the form will also not be tied to the asset. View the link above to set up the new Asset process, if you are using the Asset component in your templates.
4. Is enabling assets on forms all-or-nothing, or can it be done per form?
Answer: It’s currently an all-or-nothing setting across forms, but the Asset selection page is optional when filling out a form.
5. Can I make a custom dropdown list and have the asset component copy from it to assign assets?
Answer: Yes, by linking a custom dropdown list to the asset component, selected values can be mapped to corresponding assets, triggering assignments.
6. How can I change the asset type name?
Answer: Asset type names can be edited in the Asset Management settings. Go to Settings → Asset Types, select the type, and update the name.
7. Can we access the recording after the session?
Answer: Yes, here’s the webinar recording for you to watch or share with your team.
8. Is it possible to link an asset to all users certified to use it?
Answer: This isn’t automatic today, we have submitted a feature request on your behalf!
9. Can all asset information be exported?
Answer: Yes, asset data can be exported from an Asset Report, created in the Reports tab.
10. Can I limit the assets added to a form to only those assigned to the user creating the form?
Answer: This isn’t currently supported out-of-the-box, but filtered asset views per user are on the roadmap.
